Riding is great. No rush to get up and pack. A quick breakfast and goodbye took is to a 8 AM departure. Michelle is a little nervous on steep gravel downhills which was upcoming on the Camino. We used the primary road and then switched to a cool gravel alternative that took us around the steep section. We saw no cars or people. Just beautiful farmland landscapes. It was so cool. Michelle said she is hooked.
Within the hour we came back upon Pilgrims on the trail. We passed a few familiar faces along the way. Not to far from our destination I saw a young couple getting back on their feet after a rest. The male party was carrying 2 nap sacs, leaving the famale with none. That spelled trouble so I turned around. Apparently her leg had pain from the ankle all the way up her thigh. I offered she could jump on the back of our bike. Michelle offered her bike. The thanks us for the offer hoping the next town had a bus or taxi option. We rode on to our village only 1 KM away, found ourAlbergue and then scoped out her options foa bus. Boadilla del Camino had nothing of the sort being a really small village. I waited for them to hit the village and offered a simple solution. Michelle and I would ditch our bags and panieers. She could ride with me while her BF walks the remaining 5 KM to the next bigger village. The BF had no issues walking with his big bag to cath up with us and would ride back with me and wwalk the route again. I carried her nap sac so she could simply ride in comfort. It was aweome chatting and riding slow. She wanted to ride or take the bus here and there but the BF is doing the Camino with Ego. So silly. Her leg issues were cause by forcing a 30 KM ride. We got a little mixed up which was helpful as it gave more time for the BF to catch up. I shared with her Diego's business name hoping he or another bike shop could help them or even her solo. We found a great place for her to chill and I tried to ride with 2 bikes. It was hard and thankfully the BF was soon close enough for us to rejoin. She looked like she was going to cry as I aid goodbye. Her BF ride Michelles bike back and sadly walked the 5 KM again. At least this time it was without a pack.
What a great adventure. I hope to see them in the future.
