Spain 2026 - Day 2 - March 5 2026 - Torremolinos - Rest Chill and a 12 KM Warmup

Today was interesting.  I tried to write a few emails last night but 9 PM was enough for me.I slept like a champ despite a few beers.  Thankfully Michelle did not hate me in the morning.  Despite our place being a little on the cheap side, it was warm, dry and comfortable enough to get a well deserved rest.  Our shower in this place is crazy small.  It takes no effort to crash into the shower walls or knock the control away from hot.  For 2 nights we both didn't care.

It was a no-brainer to head back to Guinns for breakfast.  This time we met the owner.  He's a super nice guy from Denmark.  They provided us with a great breakfast, a random customer's dog to play with and advice for a day's adventures.  He mentioned his Mom from Norway does come down to visit twice a year and they always go to Rhonda, a Spanish beauty he advised we see.  After paying for breakfast we discussed what to do with our limited time and were soon handed a map of the area.

Walking to the beach is always a good Day 1 adventure.  We returned home and grabbed whatever we would need for a shortish walk.  The walk to the beach passes a billion shops selling stuff we mostly don't care about.  This is a really popular tourist town during peak season.  Getting to the beach was refreshing.  I thought it would be cool to head towards the Airport and if necessary, take the train back.  The beach is pretty nice.  There are so many similarly colored shells washing up.  Not too many swimmers at this time of the year.

After nervously passing through the Nude beach, we finally approached our turning point to possibly head towards the Airport and the Train Station.  Michelle was toast as was I so we headed towards the nearest spot to grab a cold drink and rest.  Fortunately for us, a younger employee there spoke impressive English.  He decided upon himself at 14 to learn English.  His brother is in Computer Science and he is in his second year of Accounting.  I felt bad only grabbing a cold drink.  I hope to return in a while to grab an entire meal.

It was good we looked closer to the distance to the nearest Train station.  Heading to the Airport was sill as the nearest station was much closer. We are almost experts pushing the right buttons to get a train pass.  Finally home to rest for a few hours and blog.  Yay

The Beach, yay

We decided to go to Hawaii
